SIMPLICITY AND SPEED FOR A COMPLETE IMRT PHANTOM SOLUTION
The ACE IMRT Phantom is designed to accurately validate IMRT treatment plans. It is constructed of Virtual Water™ to allow current and potential IMRT users to use existing Virtual Water™ slabs presently on site. The ACE IMRT Phantom can be used to obtain axial and coronal views of treatments plans. It includes edge slabs with a radius to minimize scatter from CT scanning. In addition, the ACE IMRT Phantom includes integral alignment pins. It is user-configurable for the various IMRT QA protocol currently in use.
AXIAL SLAB
The Axial Slab is 4 cm thick and incorporates a rotating disk with three holes with 5 cm spacing for ion chamber plug mounting. One hole is at the center of the slab, the other two are at 5 cm and 10 cm from the center. In addition, scribe lines every 30° on the slab allow for reasonable alignment of the disk. Three pin prick holes and integral alignment pins are included. An easily adjustable Virtual Water™ screw locks the rotating disk in place for measurement.

CORONAL SLAB
The Coronal Slab has a grid pattern scribed on the six faces and corresponding ion chamber cavity holes that allow ion chamber placement on a 5 cm x 5 cm grid across the face of the 30 cm x 30 cm slab face. A total of six holes are placed on the edge faces. The unique design allows users to rotate the phantom in the horizontal plane or flip over and rotate in the plane, thereby covering every point on a 5 cm x 5 cm grid. The Coronal Phantom is 2 cm thick.
- The Coronal Slab incorporates a 2 cm Virtual Water™ 30 cm x 30 cm slab with a revolutionary cavity plug design. The same slab can be used for different ion chambers. Simply switch out different cavity plugs for the ion chamber of choice. No need to purchase additional slabs for each chamber.
- Six plugs are provided to fill unused ion chamber cavities, creating a 2 cm Virtual Water™ slab
- Allows verification of film orientation in a coronal or axial plane through use of pinprick holes
CT EDGE SLAB
The CT Edge Slab is 1 cm thick and has one edge with a radius (about R = 1 cm.) Two CT Edge Slabs are typically used, one on each side of the treatment stack. Placed vertically on sides of Virtual Water™ slabs, its rounded edge minimizes CT imaging artifacts.
NO CLAMPS NEEDED
Secure alignment of phantom with innovative interchangeable locator pins on the Axial and Coronal slabs. Pins may be reversed as a plug to fill home making the Virtual Water™ slab into a regular slab.
