Standard Imaging participated in The First Regional Conference of the Federation of African Medical Physics Organization (FAMPO) in Marrakech, Morocco from November 10-13.
Attendees gathered from African and Western countries to share and discuss the field of medical physics, the latest developments and research. The talks, meetings, and fellowship time with members was not only educational, but provided additional insight to the challenges facing African therapy centers.

At the FAMPO event, they shared their vision of Quality Assurance, the role of the physicist in Africa, and how to make QA processes secure and more efficient.
The FAMPO organization recognized Vincent Ronfle with an award during the event for years supporting this sometimes-underrated discipline on the continent.
“I have received many awards in my life, but this one especially goes to my heart,” said Ronfle. “I feel at home among the family of African Physicists. Enthusiastic and eager, they are the growing generation of experts who will ensure treatments are delivered efficiently and safely on this amazing continent. Technology is coming to Africa, and they will make it happen.”
